Friday Prompts: Needs

For this Friday, I’m taking the writing prompt from another of my favorite sources, The Observation Deck by Naiomi Epel:

GlassWaterAccording to novelist Kurt Vonnegut, the fault with most amateur writing is a lack of character motivation. “Make your characters want something right away,” he advises. “Even if it’s only a glass of water.” For this prompt, identify a personal longing and embody it in a character very different from yourself. 900 words.
