So before you do anything (by ‘anything’ I mean sitting down at your desk and getting caught up in the frazzle of life before you’ve had a chance to gasp), take ten or fifteen minutes to think.
Turn off NPR, the television, your cell phones and anything else that might distract you, take out a piece of paper and make your list for the day. Realize that you can’t do everything, and don’t feel bad about it.
You’re only human after all, and you don’t want to grow old before your time, suffer a nervous breakdown, look like the frazzled young man in the photo, or just get into that kind of grumpy tiredness that all of us fall into when we don’t give ourselves enough space. So slow down. You’ll feel so much better. And so will your spouse, significant other, children and pets.
Have a fabulous week!
